Idle Hour Neighbors Alliance

The Idle Hour Neighbors Alliance was founded in 2011 to enhance the quality of life in our neighborhood. Membership is open to Idle Hour residents and business owners. All Idle Hour residents are welcome to participate in our events.

We hold a community meeting with an informative program every three months (on the second Monday of February, May, August and November). We also gather for a summer picnic and organize a neighborhood garage sale every year. We offer volunteer opportunities to help with Idle Hour Park and our greenspaces, and to become involved with Breckinridge School.

The Alliance is governed by a board of directors elected by the members. The 2024 board of directors are as follows:

Beate Popkin: President

Dale Epperson: Vice-President

Paul Brown: Treasurer

Jack Taylor: Secretary

Marie Bradshaw: At-Large Director

Annette Castle: At-Large Director

KT Griffis: At-Large Director

Lauren Tackett: At-Large Director

Carole Youngblood: At-Large Director

——————————————————————————

The board meets four times a year on the last Monday of January, April, July and October. All membership meetings are open to the public and all board meetings are open to IHNA members. All meetings take place at the Senior Center in Idle Hour Park at 6:30 pm.

We invite Idle Hour residents to join our neighborhood association. Click here to print our membership form, or click on the “Pay Membership Dues” button at the bottom of the left column. The annual fee is $10. You may email any comments or suggestions to:

The Idle Hour Neighbors Alliance is a neighborhood association and should not be confused with a home owners association. A neighborhood association (NA) is a group of neighbors who work together for improvements of safety, beautification, social activities and more. Membership is voluntary. A home owners association (HOA) is a group of property owners with legal authority to enforce rules and restrictions pertaining to safety, property maintenance, etc. Membership is mandatory for all owners of properties that are bound by an HOA.
